AAX Biotech Enters Next Phase of Collaboration with Daiichi Sankyo Following Initial Evaluation of Opti-mAb® Technology

STOCKHOLM / 31 August 2026 – -- Swedish biotech company AAX Biotech AB today announced that its research and development collaboration with Daiichi Sankyo (TSE: 4568) has progressed into a new phase. Following an initial evaluation of AAX Biotech's proprietary Opti-mAb® technology, the companies have agreed to advance their collaboration into an antibody program, marking the next step in exploring the technology's potential in next-generation antibody therapeutics.

AAX Biotech pioneers innovative technologies that advance the development of next-generation antibody therapeutics. Its proprietary platforms include Seqitope®, which enables high-resolution epitope mapping, and Opti-mAb®, which stabilizes single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibodies.

The collaboration led by scientists at AAX Biotech and the Daiichi Sankyo Research Institute Munich, which was first announced in October 2025 is focused on evaluating Opti-mAb®. Building on the outcome of the initial evaluation, the companies will now continue exploring the potential of Opti-mAb® in an antibody program.

"Advancing our collaboration with Daiichi Sankyo into a new phase is an important milestone for AAX Biotech," said Daniel X. Johansson, CEO and CSO of AAX Biotech. "The decision to continue the collaboration supports further exploration of the potential applications of our Opti-mAb® technology. We look forward to continuing our work together with Daiichi Sankyo to explore new opportunities for the design and development of next-generation antibody formats."

The collaboration remains at a research stage, and no conclusions have been reached regarding the future development, commercialization or clinical application of products arising from the collaboration. The ongoing collaboration represents another step in AAX Biotech's strategy to establish partnerships with pharmaceutical companies developing next-generation antibody therapeutics.
